1965 Fender Stratocaster sunburst
This early 1965 model has some specs that are pre-CBS such as the green pickguard but it also has the transition logo and pearl dots in the fingerboard
Good condition, 6,5/10, Made in Fullerton, CA, USA, weight 3,7kg (about 8,15lbs), worn and flat frets, the previous owner bought this guitar used in the Swedish town Gävle in the early 1980´s, this early 1965 model has some specs that are pre-CBS such as the green pickguard but it also has the transition logo and pearl dots in the fingerboard, single string tree, the back plate has one broken corner and another corner has been rounded off with a filled screw hole, all original parts except for the usual 5-way switch with diamond logo and white round center wheel (post 1977), including the double line Kluson tuners (bent E1 and E6), normal wear on the sides of the body from the screws in the Järna case (we see this on almost all the Swedish sold guitars), nice and deep belly cut, the neck stamp is FEB65B, 2 cracks in the pickguard around the neck pickup from shrinking, the tip of the pickguard is broken off, correct aluminium shield, lively rw in the fingerboard, the neck pickup cavity has a piece of masking tape signed by TV 15 and with original laquer over it, written in pencil S on the body and in the back cavity (for Sunburst or Special?), the 3 grey bottom pickups are signed by VC and dated 4-19-65 and the bridge pickup seems to read IW, the readings on the pickups are 6,33kOhm (bridge), 5,85kOhm (middle) and 5,83kOhm (neck), all 3 pots are dated 1376505, including original Swedish Järna-hardcase supplied by Swedish distributor Hagström with replaced handle
