1976 Mossman Tennessee Flat Top natural
High quality guitar from a small builder!
Very Good condition, 7,5/10, made in USA, all solid woods, spruce top with wood marquetry binding, mahogany back and sides, mahogany neck with ebony fingerboard and mother-of-pearl dot inlays, ebony bridge with a compensated bone saddle, one repaired minor side crack, added strap button on neck heel, a previous neck reset left some minor finish chips visible in the neck joint. Short history of Mossman Guitars: Witnessing the decline in quality of the mass production from the major american guitar companies during the 1970s, and disgusted with the use of laminated woods in the asian imports, Stuart Mossman gained a reputation insisting on using old-world building techniques and top quality tone woods in a low production setting, attracting artists such as Cat Stevens, Doc Watson, John Denver, Merle Travis, Eric Clapton, and Albert Lee among others
