1962 Fender Stratocaster fiesta red
Made in USA
Fair condition, 5,5/10, Made in Fullerton, CA, USA, including original Swedish made Järna hardcase which was included with all Fenders sold in Scandinavia and imported by Hagström during this era, the bridge pickup measures 5,92kOhm, middle pickup 6,32kOhm and the neck pickup 5,89kOhm, the re-fretted neck with slightly worn frets and lots of fingerboard wear is stamped 2OCT62B, here is the full story as far as we can understand; mostly original parts but one later pot and a later switch and enlarged holes for the tuners, this guitar was oversprayed with blue finish but the previous owner spent a lot of time cleaning this off and now the original fiesta red finish is showing again (as indicated by the original paint on the hair around the worm route in the cavity) and since the work was done it has crazed nicely so for some this could look like it was never oversprayed (well, to an untrained eye at least..), no paint stick mark in the neck pocket (started in late 1962), very worn back that shows a lot of the undercoat, some small touch ups were made during the.process (for example by the lower horn on the edge), the tuner holes have been enlarged by an amateur, and there are pieces of wood glued back around many of the holes but it now has the original type Kluson tuners back on with masking tape turning the original bushings into conversion bushings, one string tree, all three pickups have copper tape shielding wrapped around the bobbin but no signs of a re-wind (unbroken solder joints) so this was probably remove hum at some point, one pot date 3046347 (47th week of 1963) so it was added later, but the other 2 date 3046209 (9th week of 1962) so these could have been on the instrument from day one, later 1965 to circa 1973 CRL 1452 3-way switch with white center wheel, the original aluminium shield has a penciled signature that could say Joan
