Excellent condition, 8,5/10, Made in France, including original hardcase with logo on the lid, flamed maple body, some wear in the frets, dated 01-05-09 on the included paperwork, more info:

Great guitar from Serge Gallato in France from his workshop, an Angelo Debarre signature model (RS1939) D hole with European spruce top, flamed maple back and sides, ebony fingerboard on rock maple back, traditional luthier techniques and neck construction. Tuners and tailpiece are top end DRs, aged to look like an old instrument would, and the guitar keeps its intonation and tuning solidly. Hand carved ebony bridge ensures an efficient transfer of tone through the instrument. Finished off in a slightly darker amber, with double binding and stunning timbers, this is a stunning looking instrument as well as having the quintessential gypsy jazz tones. This is an instrument suitable for gigging, with tough construction and yet not too expensive so you would worry too much about taking it out. It comes with a Gallato semi hard case that is light yet strong to keep your investment in good condition!

The neck is traditional, squared off, quite flat and shallow in it's profile, but not too skinny. Long scale with easy access to the 14th fret but yet definitely in line with traditional Gypsy Jazz specifications and nice to play (I have smallish hands if that is any reference). Those difficult chord shapes are no problem (assuming you have practiced them enough of course!). Gallato had a genuine Selmer #452 that he took the specs from and has based this guitar on that. Artists such as Angelo Debarre, Tchavolo Schmidt, Matcho Winterstein and others have used Gallatos and reviewed them highly, and yes they could make a cheapy sound great.
