New Arrivals Januari part I

Table of contents

So how about this weeks New Arrivals? This week is historic week, as we present a line-up of older instruments in need of loving care. Lutes (19 of them, both Swedish and Renaissance versions!), Baroque guitars, Mandolins, Parlour and Gypsy guitars from the eighteenth, nineteenth and twentieth century. Some are truly top-of-the-line from their era. But these instruments won´t be restored in our workshop, as the disclaimer below explains. Some historic items are better to be left alone and preserved in the current condition until they fall in to the right hands. At least that is how we feel. Some are pretty much perfect and just need a new set of strings. And probably a good cleaning and a bit of setup work. And maybe a reglued brace or two.

PLEASE NOTE; AFTER CAREFUL CONSIDERATION AND ADVICE FROM HISTORIANS WE HAVE DECIDED NOT TO RESTORE THESE OLD INSTRUMENTS AS THEY DESERVE TO FALL INTO THE HANDS OF A DEDICATED MUSEUM/COLLECTOR WHO UNDERSTANDS THEIR TRUE VALUE EVEN WITH THE FLAWS THAT THEY MAY HAVE AFTER A LONG LIFE. SO TAKE NOTE THAT THIS INSTRUMENT IS SOLD AS-IS WITHOUT WARRANTY, PREFERABLY TO SOMEONE WHO CAN PICK IT UP IN OUR STORE AND SEE THE CONDITION THEMSELVES AS WE ARE NOT ABLE TO DESCRIBE EVERY DETAIL. BUT WE DO SHIP WORLD WIDE.

Perhaps you want to purchase one of these and fix it up yourself? Or leave it to the pro´s? Perhaps they should all go in a museum to preserve their historic value? No matter what, here they are, in all their glory.

Have a great week! /the OG crew
