Very Good condition, 7/10, Made in USA, including hardcase (drop shaped), super light (1,14kg/2,5lbs), flamenco guitar with some cool features such as a spruce neck (!) and a cypress body, a previous owner has added 2 golpeadors (tortoise celluloid) on either side of the soundhole, some scratches and wear, built on 8807 Santa Monica Blvd, Los Angeles, California during the era 1965-1973 according to the label, including wooden capo with inlays that mimic the inlays on the guitars bridge, more info:
Arturo Valdez was known as the guitar maker to the stars, Including work for Eric Clapton, Journey, Elvis Castello, The Talking Heads, Robbie Krieger and many others. He was also involved in the building of the first iconic "Axe Bass" played by Gene Simmons of KISS, Arturo Valdez is known around the world as the “guitar repairman to the stars.” With his shop located on Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood, California, Arturo has worked on thousands of guitars, many legendary in the history of rock and roll. He opened his shop in the early 1960s and soon had customers such as John Lennon, Eric Clapton and John Denver. Over the years Arturo also created his own brand of guitars and became a sought-after luthier as well. Beginning in the 1980s he designed his one line of classical and Flamenco guitars, which have been sold around the world.
