1979 Fender 25th Anniversary Stratocaster refin gold

Very Good condition, 7/10, Made in USA, including a worn era-correct (but not original) hardcase with a COA dated May 17 1979, weight 4,58kg/10,09lbs, original Fender tuners, the neck is stamped by Xavier Armenta (final neck sander in the 1960s/1970s, neck stamp on the heel 09021695, the neck pocket has been slightly modified by an amateur when removing old finish, all original electronics, one pot is dated 1377909 (9th week of 1979) but the others are obscured by solder, the middle pickup has been rewound by pickup guru Johan Lundgren (www.lundgren.se), the grey bottom pickups are stamped 131379 (bridge), 51379 (middle) and 131379 (neck), the black pickguard is a repro and there is an older white guard in the case but the original black guard is missing, this guitar shows evidence of having been refinished, the first 500 of these guitars were all more white than silver due to a mistake at the factory so this is the colour that this guitar originally had, this one is number 269 and the re-finish looks pretty professional (the previous owner has been investigating if this could be one of the dozen or so instrument refinished by Neville Marten and Martin Booth at CBS/Fender UK in 1979, but we can say that it is not), about 10.000 25th Anniversary Strats were made and shipped during 1979-1980
