1953 Fender Champ lapsteel
This 1953 Champion is a nice example of Fender's "bread and butter" lap steel guitar from the first half of the 1950s. Although designed as a student instrument, the Champion Steel was -- and remains -- a great-sounding guitar fully suited to professional use then or now.
Very Good condition, 7/10, Made in USA, yellow celluloid, original no-line Kluson tuners with white tips, original cloth wired black bottom pickup, including red alligator case with Excelsior latches, original pickup and knobs (many of these are robbed for use on the more valuable Blackguard Telecasters), replaced modern CTS pots and probably replaced output jack, original Astron type AM molded paper capacitor
