1971 Fender Competition Mustang burgundy

Good condition, 6,5/10, Made in USA, no case, including tremolo arm, lots of little dents and marks in the finish, some fret wear, the neck stamp is 16AUG71B, both pots are dated 3047116 (16th week of 1971), has been refretted at some point with larger frets, 2pc replaced modern black bottom single coil pickups with black and yellow plastic cables (should have grey bottom with date stamps), This 1971 Fender Mustang guitar in Competition Blue lacquer finish (Fender called it Burgundy) is in player condition with a new pickguard and has been routed under the pick guard, With the obvious exception of not being a left-handed model, identical to the Mustang that Kurt Cobain played in Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit video, a decal on the headstock from the music store in Osnabruck, Germany where it was first sold (Musikhaus J Langen), the pickguard has been replaced with an Allparts MOTS guard, and underneath it has been routed/hacked for Humbuckers and an extra switch, more info: The last guitar Leo Fender designed while at his titular company, the slick racing stripe has been found in the rigs of David Byrne, PJ Harvey, and Thurston Moore
