1964 Gibson ES-335TD cherry
Made in USA
Very Good condition, 7,5/10, Made in USA, overall very clean guitar with untouched electronics and original double line double ring Kluson Deluxe tuners and even original strap buttons, but with 2 issues; new covers (a set of expensive reliced nickel covers from Mojo Tone which look spot on) on the 2 Patent Sticker humbuckers (early style, basically the same as late PAFs, , plain enamel wire and double black leads which was the style of late 1962 through mid 1965) which measure 7,30kOhm (bridge) and 7,50kOhm (neck), and a briefly installed and later removed Bigsby with pro repaired snake bite holes in the top and on the side (now has the original and era correct wire tune-o-matic with missing wire and correct tailpiece with marks from being strung top wrap just like Bonamassa and Gibbons), since the Bigsby has not left a shadow and the TOM-studs look factory installed (under the finish) and there is no trace of the Custom Made plaque that covered the tailpiece stud holes on factory Bigsby guitars we come to the conclusion that this guitar was originally built with a TOM and stoptail, the pots are dated 1376333 (33rd week of 1963), including original correct Faultless black pebble hardcase with yellow lining (same size Epiphone Casinos had grey with blue lining in this era), fun fact is that Claptons May -64 which is the most famous 1964 335 has serial number 67473, more info: Gibson kept very thorough production records and shipment totals from the 1930s through the 1970s. The production totals are separated by finish color, but they're not separated by the tailpiece style. The standard tailpiece for the ES-335 was the stop bar but the Bigsby tremolo was also offered and commonly ordered. Gibson's shipment records indicate that 349 Sunburst ES-335 and 892 Cherry Red ES-335s were shipped in 1964.
