Few Gibson models are shrouded in greater mystery than the Moderne. Designed by Ted McCarty in 1957 and patented the following year, the Moderne didnt make it into production until 1982-83, when 143 models left the Gibson factory alongside the Flying V and Explorer as part of the Korina Heritage series. Most of these instruments sported natural finishes, and a handful were made in white and in black.
Very Good condition, 7,5/10, Made in USA, all original parts, including original brown square hardcase (with pink lining) with a broken handle (in the case), a handful of dents on the body, no fret wear, pot codes are 137815* (50th-something week of 1981), has pencil markings under the finish inside the electronics cavity with initials and perhaps a time stamp (looks like 8:43 JW), the Tim Shaw humbuckers are stamped 150483 and have the typical brass screws and extra row of holes on the bottom, the neck pickup cavity has been signed in pencil by Linda and Rita and the bridge pickup cavity is stamped in the bottom NATURAL, the more info:
