The only Swedish manufacturer of steel guitars on an industrial scale was Arne Holmedal, who called his guitars AWH; later AVM. The AWH was built by Arne W Holmedal in Östra Karup in the south of Sweden. He also built a few basses and electric guitars. It was Arne W. Holmedal in Skåne, Sweden, who started the production of this brand of steel guitars. At the beginning, in the 1970s, the name was AWH, but later the name was changed to AVM. Several models were built, including Viking, Eagle and a top model called Eminent. Falcon was the name of the beginner model. When Holmedal ceased production in the early 1980s, the business was sold to Norway.
