Very Good condition, 7,5/10, Made in USA, including original black tolex hardcase with purple lining, very cool custom color Sapphire Blue which is very rare, originally sold at Ace Music in Santa Monica, CA according to a sticker on the back of the headstock, neck stamp OCT251984, slab rosewood fingerboard, lots of stamps and pencil markings in the neck pocket, micro tilt, 4-bolt neck, original frets, untouched electronics (3 black bottom pickups with black and white plastic wires and numbered 016730 embossed on the bottom), single ply white pickguard, 5-way switch, written in the neck pickup cavity is JA 11-15 (not sure what this means, quality control perhaps?), more info: At the end of the resurgent Dan Smith era, Fender introduced a new Stratocaster with only two control knobs and a input jack mounted on the top of the body for 1983 and 1984. This guitar is referred to as the "Standard Stratocaster" (not to be confused with the later Made in Mexico Strat of the same name). Unique to this two-year production run were the Freeflyte surface-mounted vibrato tailpiece (no internal cavity), top mounted input jack and third tone knob delete. The "Standard Stratocaster" is frequently confused with the "Dan Smith" Stratocaster, which features a traditional Stratocaster tremolo system, and three knob control layout. - offset double cutaway alder body, bolt-on four-screw maple neck, 21-fret maple fingerboard with black dot inlays, small Strat-style headstock with silver logo and two string guides, six-on-one-side tuners, "Freeflyte" vibrato bridge or six-saddle hardtail bridge/tailpiece, single-ply 12 screw white pickguard, three single coil exposed pickups, two knobs (v, tone), five-way pickup switch, jack mounted on the pickguard at a right angle in place of the third knob, chrome hardware, available in the following Standard Colors: Black, Brown Sunburst, Cherry Sunburst, Natural, Sienna Sunburst, or White finish, and the following Custom Colors: Aztec Gold, Candy Apple Green, Emerald Green, Mocha Brown, Pewter, Ruby Red or Sapphire Blue finish, mfg. 1983-84. This model featured a vibrato system that was surface mounted without a vibrato back cavity or plate.
